If you love the outdoors you probably want a vehicle that’s built to be rugged and can go just about anywhere.  Currently the Jeep Wrangler appears to be the United States leading choice, but it also feels like the only choice.

People love the Wrangler because it’s customizable, fun to drive, and practically bombproof, but this segment of consumers doesn’t have a lot to choose from.

The Toyota FJ Cruiser was discontinued after 2014 and the Nissan Xterra was axed after 2015. The departures left Wrangler “King of the Mountain”.

However, over the next two years things will get real exciting for those wanting a rugged 4×4 SUV.

Jeep will unveil a new model for 2018. Spies have already captured images of them driving around town.

Just as exciting, Ford is officially jumping back into the market. For years, consumers begged Ford to bring the Bronco back and in 2019 they’ll get their wish.

The most surprising news may come from Toyota. Even though Toyota got out of the game after 2014, it looks like they may be jumping back in.

Toyota has not made any official announcements yet, but nseavoice.com claims a leaked patent has confirmed the “TJ Cruiser”.  Speculation is that TJ Cruiser may be the next-gem 4×4 SUV from the Japanese automaker.

Time will tell if the new makes and models will convert any current Wrangler drivers, but the competition should be a plus for consumers.
