Nearly Smokeless: Backyard firepit highlighted by Popular Science Magazine

The Solo Stove Bonfire received some significant kudos from Popular Science magazine this month.

The patented technology used by Solo Stove allows for logs to burn hot while minimizing smoke. The idea of gathering around a campfire and not walking away smelling like a chimney earned the Bonfire a coveted “Best of What’s New 2017” seal of approval from Popular Science.

Solo Stove’s Bonfire uses the same technology that they use in their compact camp stoves.

The stainless steel firepit gets its power from logs, larger sticks or woody debris. The patented air intake holes on the bottom pull air in towards the fuel source. While air is drawn in, the double-wall construction allows air to be heated up and fed through the top vents providing an extra boost of pre-heated oxygen, creating a secondary combustion and a beautiful flame.
